Building Better Communities

At the Millwrights Local 443 Union Caropenters and Contractors, we believe that our work goes beyond just building structures. We are proud to be at the very heart of our communities, working tirelessly to make them better places to live. We can be seen working in neighborhoods across our region every day. But it's when we come together to give back that we truly stand out.

Through partnerships with non-profit agencies and community organizations, we have donated our labor to build a variety of projects. From small, short-term efforts like building handicap ramps to larger, long-term commitments that require the coordination of teams of carpenters over a period of months, we are committed to making a difference.

We take great pride in making our communities stronger for everyone, whether it's through donating our time, raising money, or simply helping a neighbor in need. Our members, and the contractors they work for, are involved in a variety of community-based projects throughout Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Getting Involved

Members of Millwrights Local 443, take pride in the fact that there union is actively involved in politics on all levels. The Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council, of which Local 443 is a part, is committed to promoting the interests of working people and supporting candidates who share those values. Through our practice of "Millwright Politics," we strive to be inclusive and non-partisan, focusing on the issues that matter most to our members. We advocate for investments in infrastructure that create jobs and support our communities, and we support fair trade policies that benefit American workers.

At the local level, our political committees interview candidates seeking support and promote political involvement and voting among our membership. We encourage our members to attend government meetings and public hearings where issues affecting them are discussed, and to reach out directly to the officials they helped elect. Members of Local 443, have a strong, unified voice in the political process. By working together, they can make a difference and ensure that there voices are heard.
